Tentative

a.試探性的，暫時(shí)的;猶豫不決的

【例】Currently, it is impossible to know the side-effect of this new medicine because it is at a tentative stage.目前，這種新藥的副作用無(wú)從知曉，因?yàn)樗�還處于試驗(yàn)階段。

【構(gòu)詞】tent(伸展)+-ative(……的)→伸出去看看→試探的

【同義替換】experimental; irresolute; temporary

【派生】tentatively ad.暫時(shí)地;實(shí)驗(yàn)性地 tentativeness n.遲疑;試探性

【構(gòu)詞】not(知道)+or(說(shuō)，口)+-ious(……的)→眾口一致的，無(wú)人不知的→眾所周知的;聲名狼藉的

【同義替換】infamous, indisputable, flagrant

【派生】notoriety n.惡名，聲名狼藉
