周曉方，昆士蘭大學(xué)計算機科學(xué)教授，中國人民大學(xué)“****”特聘教授，昆大數(shù)據(jù)與知識工程研究室主任，并擔任澳洲研究院(ARC)下屬的全國性企業(yè)信息基礎(chǔ)研究網(wǎng)絡(luò)主任，澳洲信息通訊技術(shù)國家實驗室(NICTA)負責(zé)多媒體數(shù)據(jù)庫研發(fā)的高級研究員，澳洲生物信息學(xué)國家重點實驗室負責(zé)數(shù)據(jù)庫研究的首席研究員，以及VLDB Journal, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering和World Wide Web Journal等國際一流學(xué)術(shù)期刊的編委。周教授畢業(yè)于南京大學(xué)計算機系， 1994年于昆士蘭大學(xué)獲得計算機科學(xué)博士學(xué)位。在1994至1999年期間，周教授任職于澳洲科學(xué)院(CSIRO),擔任空間信息系統(tǒng)研究室的主任。周曉方教授長期從事數(shù)據(jù)庫及信息系統(tǒng)研究，在大規(guī)模復(fù)雜數(shù)據(jù)管理集成與分析的基礎(chǔ)研究及海量數(shù)據(jù)前端應(yīng)用方面積累了大量經(jīng)驗和成果。周曉方教授在這些領(lǐng)域發(fā)表了逾170余篇論文,包括30余篇發(fā)表在國際三大數(shù)據(jù)庫會議SIGMOD, VLDB和ICDE，及數(shù)據(jù)庫相關(guān)領(lǐng)域最高水平的國際期刊VLDB Journal, ACM Transactions on Database Systems, ACM Transactions on Information Systems, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering的論文，其研究得到澳洲研究院，澳洲政府及工業(yè)界的長期資助，參與并領(lǐng)導(dǎo)過多個大型科研項目。其它情況參見http://www.itee.uq.edu.au/~zxf.

主要研究方向

長期從事數(shù)據(jù)庫教學(xué)與科研工作，其主要研究領(lǐng)域包括空間數(shù)據(jù)庫，多媒體數(shù)據(jù)庫，數(shù)據(jù)質(zhì)量，高性能數(shù)據(jù)處理及網(wǎng)絡(luò)信息系統(tǒng)，以及這些技術(shù)在生物信息學(xué)，地理信息系統(tǒng)，移動對象管理，水文信息系統(tǒng)，醫(yī)療衛(wèi)生系統(tǒng)，Web查詢及視頻數(shù)據(jù)檢索等方面的應(yīng)用。
