中央音樂學(xué)院

姚晨的音樂語言根植于東方和西方的音樂傳統(tǒng)，同時充分運用了當(dāng)代作曲技法的開放性融合了二者。他對音樂時間、音色、律動、結(jié)構(gòu)及表情的感知都處于許多臨界地帶：新與舊，東與西，非理性的神秘與理性的邏輯感。同時，對獨立電影和實驗劇場的涉獵也有效地拓寬了他的音樂種類和風(fēng)格。這些感知體驗深深滲透在他的創(chuàng)作之中，體現(xiàn)了他對新音樂創(chuàng)作在世界當(dāng)代多元文化發(fā)展中的觀點和態(tài)度。這種跨文化的審美，在他的樂隊作品《詩兩首》，器樂劇場《波羅密多》， 戲劇空間《琵琶彈戲：西廂記三折》，中西混合室內(nèi)樂《駿》、《滄浪》、《嬋娟》等作品中都有集中的呈現(xiàn)，他們充分展示了作曲家在處理音樂戲劇性、混合不同音樂材料風(fēng)格等方面的創(chuàng)作才能。

作為一個活躍的青年作曲家，姚晨和許多的中美音樂家都有著密切的合作。這些音樂家包括美國指揮家 Cliff Colnot, Rei Hotoda，法國指揮家Jacques Mercier，紐約大都會歌劇院首席長笛演奏家Denis Bouriakov，法國室內(nèi)交響樂團長笛首席Clara Novakova，美國科羅拉多交響樂團長笛首席Brook Ferguson，新加坡小提琴演奏家蕭麗君，舊金山音樂學(xué)院小提琴教授何為，中提琴演奏家徐沛珺，瑞士巴塞爾交響樂團中提琴首席Veit Hertemstein，法國巴黎廣播樂團豎琴首席Nicolas Tulliez，中國愛樂樂團豎琴首席郭悅， 以色列單簧管演奏家Guy Yehuda，琵琶演奏家楊惟、蘭維薇，古琴演奏家陳雷激，古箏演奏家王于真，馬林巴演奏家林威震，竹笛演奏家張維良、王華，巴揚手風(fēng)琴演奏家Stanislav Venglevski、羅漢，低音提琴演奏家張達(dá)尋、Michael Cameron、陳翰叡，中國昆曲藝術(shù)家呂佳和蕭向平，等等。

他的作品也被許多重要的大型演奏團體演奏過，這包括獲得格萊美古典大獎的美國Saint Paul室內(nèi)交響樂團、美國Pacifica弦樂四重奏團和美國eighth blackbird六重奏團。此外，還有著名的美國St. Luke’s 交響樂隊，法國Lorraine國家交響樂團，加拿大Winnipeg交響樂團， 美國 Promusica 室內(nèi)交響樂團 ，芝加哥交響樂團麾下的Civitas Ensemble， 美國Tanglewood 音樂節(jié)New Fromm Players，法國Diotima Quatuor弦樂四重奏團，新加坡唐弦樂四重奏團，以色列當(dāng)代音樂團, 香港新音樂團，美國Camerata和Quintet of the Americas木管五重奏團等均成功演繹過姚晨的音樂作品。

姚晨出生于中國廣東，成長于中國大西北，曾在廣州星海音樂學(xué)院附中和中央音樂學(xué)院接受嚴(yán)格的作曲訓(xùn)練。在美國芝加哥大學(xué)攻讀作曲博士學(xué)位期間及之后，他先后執(zhí)教于美國芝加哥大學(xué)音樂系、美國伊利諾伊大學(xué)香檳分校音樂學(xué)院、美國伊利諾伊州立大學(xué)音樂學(xué)院及中國蘇州大學(xué)音樂學(xué)院。目前為中國北京中央音樂學(xué)院作曲系副教授。更多信息請訪問www.yaochenmusic.com

The music of YAO Chen strikes audiences with its innovative ways of bringing the traditions of Chinese and Western music and its poetic telling of the composer's innermost thoughts.　 His perceptions on musical time, timbre, intonation, pulsation, and expression are always at frontiers: between the old and the new, between the East and the West, between irrational mysticism and rational logic.　 While devoting himself mainly to the field of contemporary art music, YAO also experiments with other genres, writing music for films and theatre productions.　 Cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary concepts permeate his creative inspiration and compositional output, presenting his understanding of the value of new music in enlivening global cultures.　

His creative vision and aesthetic pursuit have resulted in his many compositions, such as Two Poems for orchestra, the instrumental theatre piece Paramita,the three-act environmental theatre piece Playing the Opera on Pipa: Romance of the Western Chamber, and many Chinese-Western mixed instrumental works including Tsanglang…Tsanglang for flute, zheng and viola, Yearning for zheng and double bass, Jun for pipa and double bass. These pieces not only demonstrate his talent in navigating situations covering a wide emotional spectrum and dramaturgical elements in music writing, but also reveal his versatility in structuring musical forms that embrace mixed instruments, musical languages and styles.

YAO embarked on his lifelong musical journey in the People's Republic of China.　 He received training in composition at Xinghai Conservatory of Music and Central Conservatory of Music.　He received in his Ph.D in Composition from the University of Chicago.　 He is currently associate professor in Composition at Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.　In the past, he has hold professorships at the University of Chicago Music Department, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign School of Music, the Illinois State University School of Music, and the Soochow University School of Musicin China.　YAO is his surname, and Chen is his first name.　For more information, please visit www.yaochenmusic.com
